League of Nations format
The 54 national teams are divided into four divisions based on their results in the 2022/23 Nations League.
Four groups of four teams have been formed in Leagues A, B and C. Each will play six matches in its group.
In League D, two groups of three teams have been formed. Each will play four matches in its group.
In the top division, League A, teams compete to become champions of the UEFA Nations League. The winners and runners-up of the A League groups will play each other home and away in the quarter-finals in March 2025, after which the top four teams will advance to the final stage in June 2025.
In addition, the top four teams in the Nations League will get an additional chance to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
