Literally, the prosecutor’s office: “Under the procedural guidance of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a neurologist and emergency medical assistant were notified of suspicion of abuse of influence (part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).”
Details: It is noted that the paramedic found so-called clients who wanted to receive a fictitious disability certificate, and the doctor registered them for inpatient treatment in the neurological department. At the same time, the “sick” himself could not appear at the hospital. Subsequently, forged illness documents were used to obtain a disability group.
The cost of services varied from $3,600 to $7,800.
The police detained the paramedic while receiving a bribe. During the searches, 182,000 dollars, more than 6,500 euros and draft records were seized from him. In total, almost UAH 8 million were withdrawn.
So far, the paramedic has been remanded in custody with the possibility of bail. As for the doctor, the court is still making a decision.
Law enforcement officers are also checking the involvement of other employees of medical and social expert commissions (MSEK) in this scheme.
