Internships for teachers, joint sports competitions after the war – the mayor of Brovary on deepening cooperation with the sister city of Jena

In April of this year, German language teachers from two Brovary lyceums will go to the city of Jena for an internship. Mayor Ihor Sapozhko told about this and other cooperation agreements following the visit to Brovary by a delegation from the German sister city in a comment UNN.

The mayor of Brovariv noted that with the city councilor of the municipality of Jena, Matias Mit, it was possible to discuss various directions of further cooperation between the two communities.

First of all, the guests were interested in how the sphere of education functions in our community, especially during the war. A delegation from a German city visited three of our lyceums, talked with students and teachers. An agreement was reached on participation in joint projects, organization of online events between students and teachers of both cities. In April of this year, German language teachers of lyceums #5 and #8 will go to Jena for an internship. In the field of culture, there is an agreement on the organization of online and offline events of creative groups of sister cities. We also plan to organize after the war joint competitions of athletes of our communities in various sports. We do not forget about the field of medicine. Thanks to the support of our German partners, our clinical multidisciplinary hospital received equipment. And now the guests from Jena got to know the medical workers who work with this equipment. There are agreements that our medical facilities will continue to receive aid from Germany. We started cooperation with Jena in 2022, and became sister cities in 2023. A lot has been done during this time. And it is important that our cooperation is versatile

Recently, Brovary was visited by a delegation from the German city of Jena, headed by city councilor Matthias Mith. The guests, in particular, visited several educational institutions of the community, the Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities, where they had the opportunity to see a unique salt room, a veterans’ hub, and watched how future champions are prepared in one of the three largest swimming pools in Ukraine.

As part of cooperation with the German cities of Jena and Erlangen, as well as the district of Lahn-Dill, Brovary received three ambulances, four fire trucks, three units of public transport, one school bus, generators, various equipment for community educational institutions and a modular town in which displaced people live.
