In Khmelnytskyi region, almost 8 million were seized from doctors who made fictitious disability groups for men

In the Khmelnytskyi region, two doctors are suspected of facilitating the illegal acquisition of disability groups. During the searches, the law enforcement officers seized almost 8 million hryvnias from them. This was reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General, reports UNN.

Under the procedural guidance of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a neurologist and emergency medical assistant were notified of suspicion of abuse of influence (part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)

According to the investigation, the doctors developed an illegal income scheme through assistance in obtaining disability.

A paramedic organized a search for citizens who intended to receive a disability group. The doctor registered “clients” for inpatient treatment at the neurological department and produced medical documents without their actual stay. In the future, this became the basis for the establishment of disability groups, the OGP pointed out.

The price of “services” ranged from 3,600 to 7,800 US dollars.

The police detained the paramedic while receiving the funds.

During the searches, 182,000 US dollars, more than 6,500 euros, which is equivalent to almost 8 million UAH, as well as draft records, medical documentation and mobile phones were seized from the suspects.

Currently, the man has been remanded in custody with the possibility of posting bail. The petition regarding the other defendant is pending in court. The involvement of MSEK employees in committing a crime is being checked.
