The bollards, which Russia is trying to use to protect the Kerch Bridge, which connects the occupied Crimea with the Russian Federation, from possible attacks by naval drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, are floating in the water near the shores of Kerch.

According to the correspondent of the Radio Liberty Krym.Realii project, fragments of barricades are drifting in the area of ​​the city embankment of Kerch.

Part of the boom barriers was washed ashore by the sea current in the central district of Kerch.

In the summer of 2024, Russia began placing barges on the southern side of the bridge, later additional barges and floating barrages parallel to the Kerch bridge appeared.

New satellite images show a significant increase in the number of barges protecting the bridge.

The Kerch bridge provides the main traffic to occupied Crimea from Russian territory, and is also used for military supplies to the territory of the Crimean peninsula.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, in an interview with the British publication The Guardian, published on July 24, refused to name the terms of the possible destruction of the Kerch bridge connecting the occupied peninsula with Russia, but emphasized that Kyiv plans to return Crimea. “It’s real. Of course, this is a big military secret,” said the general.
