“A 30-year-old man was notified of suspicion of hooliganism, i.e. gross violation of public order on the grounds of clear disrespect for society, as a result of which a minor child was injured (Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the message reads.

According to the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the man boarded a minibus going from the Chernihivska metro station to the Troyeshchyna housing estate. “He had a dispute with the driver in the passenger compartment. After that, a disgruntled passenger got out at the bus stop and threw a glass bottle of vodka into the minibus window, breaking the window and injuring the boy who was in the passenger compartment. He received a fatal head wound,” the prosecutor’s office said.

The man was notified of suspicion of hooliganism.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of a fine of up to 34 thousand hryvnias or probation supervision for a term of up to five years, or restriction of freedom for the same term.
