Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly session on September 25 before presenting a “victory plan” to US President Joe Biden amid Russia’s continued full-scale invasion.

On September 24, the President of Ukraine said in a speech to the UN Security Council that Russia can only be “forced” into peace, and condemned Iran and North Korea as “accomplices” who helped Moscow by providing weapons it used to attack Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Nobel laureate, human rights defender Oleksandra Matviychuk announced the day before that an open letter was sent to the UN Secretary General about the suspension of Russia’s membership in the UN General Assembly.

“In addition to Ukrainian organizations, this letter was signed by colleagues from Latin America. Among them are more than 20 former ministers of foreign affairs and many well-known human rights defenders, most of whom held important positions within the framework of the Inter-American Human Rights Protection System or in the UN itself,” the head of the Ukrainian Center for Civil Liberties wrote on Facebook.

Details of Zelenskyi’s victory plan, which he is expected to discuss with Biden on Sept. 26, remain unclear, but he said the plan would be a “bridge” to ending the war.

The mass media report that the plan will provide for the strengthening of military and financial support and security guarantees of the US, as well as further sanctions against Russia.

The head of Zelenskyi’s office, Andriy Yermak, said that the main guarantee of security that Kyiv wants is NATO membership, a demand that Kyiv has been making for years, but which the West, including Washington, has received with skepticism.

Zelenskyi also said he would again ask for permission to use long-range missiles to strike military targets deep in Russia, a move that has divided Ukraine’s allies.

In addition to the meeting with Biden on June 26, Zelenskyi is also scheduled to hold talks with Democratic US presidential candidate Kamala Harris. It was planned that Zelensky would also hold a similar meeting with the US presidential candidate from the Republicans, Donald Trump. However, according to the media, a meeting between Zelenskyi and Trump has not been scheduled.
