“For now, boxing is still not included in the program of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. This is due to the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), adopted after the termination of the International Boxing Association (IBA). However, the IOC recognized that it was necessary to involve an international federation that would take care of boxing at the Games.
USA Boxing, along with 42 other countries, has joined World Boxing, a new international federation that we helped found. World Boxing works to meet IOC requirements such as anti-doping rules, financial transparency and integrity in the ring. We are confident that a decision on boxing for Los Angeles 2028 will be made by the IOC in early 2025,” said a sports official.
