In New York, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with the President of Finland Alexander Stubb. The main topics of the meeting are the situation on the battlefield, Ukraine’s defense needs and international cooperation.
This is reported by the Office of the President.
In a conversation with Stubb, Zelensky noted that Ukraine needs air defense equipment, including MANPADS.
He familiarized the interlocutor with the current stage of implementation of the agreements reached during the NATO summit in Washington.
Ukrainian-Finnish defense cooperation was discussed at the meeting, the joint production of drones and the exchange of experience in this field were discussed separately.
Zelenskyy emphasized that it is important for Ukraine to obtain permission and means from its partners for strikes deep into Russian territory.
The leaders also discussed what international efforts are needed to achieve a lasting and just peace for Ukraine, and the role of the Global South in this process.
Before that, Zelensky’s interview with ABC News reported that Russia uses Chinese satellites to photograph nuclear power plants in Ukraine. And if she does this, there is a threat of an attack on these objects.
Earlier, on the night of September 22, the Russian strike drone “Shakhed” once again flew near the site of the Khmelnytsky NPP.
It will be recalled that on August 27, Zelensky announced the successful test of the first domestic ballistic missile.
In 2023, Zelensky dismissed Yury Gusev from the post of general director of Ukroboronprom. The mass media wrote that due to the failure of the missile program, the president was promised that in May 2023, Ukrainian “Sapsan” missiles would begin to massively destroy Russian military infrastructure in the depths of the territory of the Russian Federation, but this did not happen.
