Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov emphasized the priority of fighting corruption in all areas for which his department is responsible. He said this in an interview with LB.ua.
“Currently, we have zero tolerance for corruption. And we will continue to clean the system,” said Rustem Umyerov.
He said that when he took office a year ago, the Ministry of Defense did not even have internal security.
“We created the Department of Homeland Security from scratch. And today, this department directly cooperates very closely with all law enforcement, anti-corruption, special bodies,” said the Minister of Defense.
The Ministry of Defense also has an internal anti-corruption service and a separate internal audit department.
“We do not reveal the algorithm of work – if someone thinks that they are smarter than our people, they will end up like that,” added Rustem Umyerov.
As ArmiyaInform reported, Rustem Umyerov held a meeting with the ambassadors of the Group of Seven (G7) countries and summarized the team’s achievements during the first year of work in the department.
