Umerov: Ukraine is 80% dependent on the help of partners

Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov said that Ukraine is 80% dependent on the help of partners. He said this in an interview with Lb.ua.

“We are 80+% dependent on our partners. We work with the European Union, NATO, SAG-U, EUCOM (European Command of the US Armed Forces), with the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany and a dozen other countries in a bilateral format on a daily basis,” he said.

“I always look at threats. That is, for example, the threat from the Russian Federation, today we have 250 brigades. And they will raise. In what sense? They are increasing the number of aircraft, air force, air defense, and assault. We say that this requires forces and means. At the moment, this war will cost as much as the enemy will spend on it,” the minister added

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Western partners have been providing military aid to Ukraine. During this year, Kyiv concluded security agreements with a number of countries – they, among other things, provide for the provision of security assistance. Also, Ukraine is trying to increase its own production of weapons, partly producing them jointly with partners.

At the beginning of September, Rustem Umyerov held a meeting with colleagues from the Scandinavian and Baltic countries: Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia within the framework of the Ramstein meeting, calling for expanding cooperation in the joint production of weapons.
