The construction of a waste processing plant in Lviv has stopped.

About this reported city council member Nazar Berbeka. He is the head of the temporary control commission on the activities of this enterprise.

“A crisis situation has arisen – the agreement with the Polish contractor can be considered terminated,” he wrote on Facebook with reference to the utility company “Green City”.

The construction contractor was the Polish company Control Process SA.

As LIGA.net writes, on the “Green City” website specifiedthat Control Process did not extend the bank guarantee in the amount of 3.6 million euros for the performance of the contract.

If the contract is terminated, this amount must go to the budget of Lviv as compensation. Such a breach of contract puts the continuation of the construction of the plant with the current contractor at risk.

The deputy commission gave a protocol mandate to the first deputy mayor of Lviv, Andrii Moskalenko, to provide a plan for getting out of the crisis situation and to inform how it will affect the cost of the works and how much the time frame of the project will be shifted.

The construction of the waste processing plant in Lviv is 65% complete (as of July 2024).

We will remind:

European investment companies are ready to invest in the construction of 5 waste processing plants in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
