UEFA may consider the return of the youth national team of Russia

According to the president of the Football Federation of Belarus, Mykola Sherstnev, UEFA may consider admitting the U-17 Russian national team to official matches at the next congress.

Allegedly, at a recent meeting of the heads of associations that are part of UEFA, the organization agreed to consider this issue.

“UEFA management decided to discuss the issue of admitting Russia’s under-17 teams, to study how the European federations will react in order to make a final decision.”

“I stated that it is necessary to consider the return of 17-year-old boys, regardless of any sanctions. If there is no air communication, then it is necessary to allow playing on neutral fields, which will be normal in principle, the majority supported it,” said Sherstnev.

On Monday, journalist Viktor Watsko told about it, noting that so far this idea has been stopped.

Last year, FIFA already wanted to return the youth national teams of the aggressor countries, but faced opposition from the majority of federations and abandoned the idea.
