Russian troops are shelling Kharkiv, high-rise buildings have been hit, three people have died – the authorities

The Russian military is attacking Kharkiv, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said on the afternoon of September 24. “The enemy is striking one of the most populated areas of the city with anti-aircraft guns. Be careful,” he wrote in a telegram.

Later, Terekhov added that the strikes were in four administrative districts of Kharkiv. “Information about victims and destruction is collected by relevant services. But we can already see that residential areas of the city are under bombardment. Be careful: there are still cabs in the air,” the mayor warned.

Later, Terekhov reported that there was preliminary information about the hitting of two residential high-rise buildings in the Kyiv and Saltiv districts of Kharkiv by anti-aircraft missiles.

“According to preliminary information that needs confirmation, unfortunately, there are casualties,” he added.

Meanwhile, the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Synegubov, reported three dead and 15 wounded.

“People are under the rubble. One of the high-rise buildings was hit directly,” he added.

The forces of the Russian Federation regularly attack Ukrainian regions, in particular Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast, with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
