The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with 209.5 million euros for the restoration of critical infrastructure and humanitarian aid, the head of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the X social network after a meeting with G7 foreign ministers in New York.

Also, as Kaspar Veldkamp reported, the Netherlands contributes 45 million euros to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine and finances the supply of the necessary equipment.

According to the minister, Ukrainians are preparing for one of the harshest winters, and “in order for Ukraine to endure, it needs energy.”

“At today’s meeting with the foreign ministers of the G7 countries and partners, including (Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine) Andrii Sybiga, I emphasized that we must join forces to ensure this,” Veldkamp emphasized.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine emphasizes that the significant damage caused by the mass attacks of Russia, in particular one of the largest attacks on the energy sector on August 26, continues to complicate the operation of Ukraine’s energy system. In addition, Russian troops do not stop daily shelling of energy infrastructure facilities.

According to the ministry, since October 2022, Russia has carried out more than a thousand strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities, and this year alone, 9 GW of generating capacity was lost due to strikes.

Last week, the UN mission said that Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have caused significant damage and could lead to even more devastating consequences as winter approaches.
