Details: According to the SBU, the man was recruited by Russian military intelligence in August 2024.
According to the investigation, the traitor had to adjust the strike on one of the divisions of his brigade, using geolocation tags on Google maps, which he transferred to his Russian curator through an anonymous chat in the Telegram messenger. In exchange for this, the representative of the Russian special service promised to help the detainee in crossing the combat line of combat towards the Russian Federation.
Literally, the prosecutor’s office: “The forty-five-year-old man periodically received tasks from the FSB. He collected and transmitted information about the consequences of missile strikes, the locations of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the location of authorities and military administration bodies.
The occupiers used this information to plan combat missions, including with the involvement of sabotage and reconnaissance groups.”
Details: In addition, the attacker conducted preliminary reconnaissance of the locations of Ukrainian air defenses in preparation for an enemy missile strike.
During the search of the suspect’s place of residence, physical evidence confirming his illegal activity in favor of the aggressor state was seized.
The man was informed of suspicion under part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).
He is currently being held without bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
