“The police arrested a man who is suspected of several arsons committed in Lviv last week. The suspect deliberately damaged the electrical panel, the windows of an educational institution, the cover of the Neptune sculpture and the property of food establishments in the city center. The perpetrator turned out to be a 19-year-old resident of Lviv. According to him, on at the time of committing the crimes, he was intoxicated,” the city council reported in Telegram.
The Police Department of the Lviv Oblast confirmed on social networks that the police had detained an attacker involved in a series of arson attacks in the center of Lviv.
The intruder was informed of the suspicion of committing criminal offenses provided for in part 2 of article 194 (Deliberate destruction or damage to property) of the Criminal Code and part 2 of article 15 – part 2 of article 194 (Attempt to intentionally destroy or damage property) of the Criminal Code.
As noted, the detainee faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation continues, the amount of damages is determined. Law enforcement officers are investigating the suspect’s involvement in other similar crimes.
