The first thousand! Starodubtseva confidently became the basis of the top tournament in Beijing

Ukrainian tennis player Julia Starodubtseva (WTA 115) made it to the main draw of the WTA 1000 hard tournament in Beijing (China).

In the final of the qualification, the Ukrainian defeated in two sets Jang Soo Jeong (South Korea, WTA 230) in 1 hour and 8 minutes.

This was the first meeting of the rivals.

For the first time in her career, Starodubtseva will play at the base of the thousand and for the third time at the WTA level. Two weeks earlier, the Ukrainian reached the quarterfinals of the tournament in Monastir (Tunisia).

Yulia will find out her opponent in the 1/64 finals of the thousand in China later. In the 1st round of qualifying, she beat Carol Zhao 6:2, 6:2.

Four more tennis players will also represent Ukraine in the main draw: Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremska, Angelina Kalinina and Lesya Tsurenko. Earlier, they got to know their first rivals.
