The October District Court of the Russian city of Omsk arrested Yevhen Kramarenko, who returned from the war against Ukraine, in the case of the murder of his ex-wife. This is reported by NGS55.RU and Novy Omsk.

According to these publications, on the evening of September 20, Kramarenko ambushed 26-year-old Anastasia near the house on Kirova Street, beat her and stabbed her several times. He then tried to escape in a car, but was soon apprehended.

The husband, it is claimed, wanted to make up with his wife, but there was an argument between them. “He was sitting and looking at our little girl through binoculars. You don’t come to terms with scotch tape, pepper spray and a tool kit. All this was found by police officers on the landing, he was not going to reconcile, but to kill,” a relative of the deceased told reporters.

Evgeny Kramarenko previously served in the special police unit, about a year ago, according to the media, he returned from the war against Ukraine. At the court regarding the selection of a preventive measure, the man pleaded guilty and stated that he killed in a state of affect.

The former spouse has two children, one of whom is only 11 months old. Rodichka claims that Kramarenko threatened not only Anastasia, but also the children. “He repeatedly threatened to kill her, threatened to set the child on fire, he beat her (ex-wife – ed.), and she wrote a statement. He pursued her for three months,” said a relative of the deceased.

After the start of the war in Ukraine, Russia began mass recruiting prisoners in colonies and sending them to war. Until the spring of 2023, they were recruited into Yevgeny Prigozhin’s “Wagner” PMC group. Then such individuals began to enter into contracts with the unit “Storm Z”, which is directly subordinated to the Ministry of Defense.

Over two years of full-scale war, veterans of the so-called “SVO” (the official Russian name for the war against Ukraine, “special military operation” – ed.) killed more than 100 people. Roughly the same number received serious injuries. “Verstka” publication notes that relatives and acquaintances of participants in the invasion of Ukraine are in the main risk group. The most common article is “deliberately causing serious harm to health” (Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
