At the same time, important advocacy work in favor of Ukraine continues in Great Britain.As Lesya Zaburanna, People’s Deputy, head of the Subcommittee on State Budget Expenditures, reported on her Facebook page, she took part in the conference of the ruling Labor Party in Great Britain and held an important meeting with the head of the country’s Foreign Ministry.
“Together with the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kornienko, we had an extremely important meeting with Ukraine’s long-time friend, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth Affairs and Development, David Lemmy. We discussed the security situation in Ukraine, the latest attacks on our cities, and Ukraine’s plans for victory with support our partners,” Zaburanna said.
According to the people’s elected representative, during the meeting with the head of British diplomacy, the Ukrainian deputies will emphasize the main priorities of today:
- the importance of support for the Ukrainian Victory Plan, particularly from London;
- assistance in inviting Ukraine to NATO;
- removal of restrictions on the use of long-range weapons, due to which Ukraine cannot fully defend itself;
- confiscation of frozen Russian assets and their allocation to Ukraine’s current needs.
“Great Britain has been and remains a great friend and partner of Ukraine. We are sincerely grateful for the support and believe that together we will quickly be able to defeat the enemy!” Zaburanna said.
Ukraine presents its allies with a victory planAs UNIAN wrote, the day before President Zelenskyi promised that the Victory Plan for Ukraine will soon be on the table of all Ukraine’s partners. Presentation of this plan is one of the main tasks of the president’s trip to the USA.
Since the current American president, Joe Biden, still refuses to cancel the ban on deep strikes against the Russian Federation by Western missiles, it is Great Britain that is trying to help Ukraine overcome this obstacle. After all, due to Washington’s position, Ukraine cannot use even British Storm Shadow cruise missiles for strikes against the Russian Federation, since they use American guidance technologies.
