Details: The press officer noted that more than 1,300 firefighters of the State Emergency Service and more than 300 units of rescue service equipment are working in these areas to extinguish fires.
In Poltava Oblast, 5 fires are being extinguished, the total area of which is 28 hectares. Litter, peat bogs, dry grass and shrubs are burning. These fires are being extinguished.
In particular, in the Poltava representative office of State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” the forest litter caught fire and the fire quickly spread to an area of 720 hectares. Now this fire has been contained, there is rotting of bushes and stumps. As a result of this fire, 26 private houses and 24 commercial buildings were damaged.
There is currently 1 fire on the total area of 800 hectares in Donetsk region. It is currently localized.
In the Kyiv region, 3 fires are ongoing on a total area of more than 13 hectares. Khorunzhy expressed the opinion that if the wind changes and there is no fire from the north, then the consequences of these fires in the form of smoke will not reach Kyiv.
In the Rivne region, 3 fires were recorded on a total area of 75 hectares. In particular, there are fires of dry grass and bushes.
In the Sumy region, there are 2 fires on a total area of about 20 hectares. There is no threat to populated areas, the peat is being extinguished.
In the Kharkiv region, 2 fires were recorded on a total area of 190 hectares – this is the village of Malynivka, Chuguyiv district. Currently, forest litter is being extinguished there.
In the Chernihiv region, 2 fires were recorded on a total area of more than 190 hectares.
Answering a question about what complicates the process of extinguishing these fires for firefighters, the representative of the State Emergency Service explained that one of these factors is waterless areas.

The second factor is the mining of territories, especially in front-line areas or de-occupied territories The third is the shelling of our rescuers,” the press officer informed.
Details: In total, since the beginning of 2024, more than 46,000 fires have been recorded in the ecosystems of Ukraine.
According to Khorunzhy, of the recorded number of fires in ecosystems this year, 4,800 arose precisely as a result of hostilities.
The press officer urged people to follow fire safety rules and under no circumstances burn dry grass under such weather conditions.
