“Planned actions of the Cherkasy OVA and law enforcement agencies to prepare for the arrival of pilgrims are ongoing. As of now, there are 1.5 to 2 thousand pilgrims in Uman, mainly women and children. We expect an increase in arrivals from September 29,” Taburets said.
According to him, the heightened security regime begins tomorrow, but the city is fully prepared for Rosh Hashanah.
“You can get to the area where the celebration will take place through 2-4 places, where an enhanced check will be carried out,” added the head of the Cherkasy OVA.
To the question of how many Hasidim are expected to attend this year’s celebration, Taburets answered: “For now, it is difficult to say how many there will be. We know that certain “moments” took place in Moldova, where many pilgrims crossed the border through it.”
He emphasized that explanatory work is being conducted with pilgrims regarding security measures and curfew observance.
“We worked so that they would respond to the alarm and not violate the curfew, because it will not be simplified,” Taburets emphasized.
