The Verkhovna Rada has registered a draft resolution on the recall of Andriy Odarchenko, a member of the Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy, elected by the quota of the Servant of the People faction. Earlier it was reported about the escape of the deputy from Ukraine.
This is evidenced by the draft resolution No. 12045 posted on the website of the parliament.
“Since, during the period of the legal regime of martial law, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine must act quickly, efficiently and harmoniously, it became necessary to make changes in the composition of the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in accordance with the wishes of the People’s Deputies of Ukraine, the interests of the state and in accordance with society’s requirements,” says the explanatory note to the project.
At the same time, as People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, who actively comments on events in the parliament, noted, Deputy Odarchenko was not excluded from the “Servant of the People” faction.
It will be recalled that in November 2023 NABU and SAP informed Odarchenko of suspicion. According to the data of law enforcement agencies, the deputy offered a bribe to the former head of the Recovery Agency, Mustafa Nayem, in the cryptocurrency Bitcoin in the amount of $50,000 in exchange for assistance in allocating funds from the fund for liquidation of the consequences of Russian aggression to repair the buildings of the university where he remained rector.
The higher anti-corruption court announced a national and international search for People’s Deputy from “Servant of the People” Andriy Odarchenko.
