During the meeting, he reportedly congratulated the winners and prize-winners of the games and their coaches on Independence Day and honored them with state awards.
“The President presented the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise 4th degree to Olympic boxing champion Oleksandr Khizhnyak and the Order of Princess Olga 1st degree to Olympic high jump champion Yaroslav Maguchih,” the message reads.

The president also awarded the athletes with the Order of Merit of the II and III degrees, Princess Olga of the II and III degrees, and also presented awards to the coaches.

Earlier, during the celebrations on the occasion of Independence Day, Zelensky awarded the Orders of Freedom to Oleksandr Usyk and two-time Olympic champion Olga Harlan, the President’s Office reports.
The 2024 Olympic Games ended in Paris on August 11. In the final medal tally, Ukrainian athletes took 22nd place, having won three gold, five silver and four bronze medals.
At the Games in Paris, the smallest number of Ukrainian athletes competed in all Olympics – only 140 athletes.
