Direct speech: “80 thousand? This is a lie.

The real figure is much lower than what has been published. Much”.

What preceded: The American edition of The Wall Street Journal published its estimate on September 17, according to which the total losses of the military of Russia and Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in 2022 could exceed one million.

In particular, as the publication wrote, “the number of dead Ukrainian servicemen is 80,000, and the number of wounded is 400,000.”

“Western intelligence estimates of Russian losses differ: according to some data, the number of dead reaches almost 200 thousand, and the number of wounded – about 400 thousand,” the publication also said.

People’s deputy from the “Voice” party, secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, SBU colonel Roman Kostenko, said that the data of The Wall Street Journal about 80,000 Ukrainian soldiers killed in the war with Russia are exaggerated.

On February 25, 2024, Zelenskyi said that at that time, 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers had died during the full-scale invasion of Russia.
