Iran did not send Fath-360 missile launchers to the Russian Federation – mass media

Iran did not send launchers for Fath-360 missiles to Russia – ZMIIran did not deliver launchers with Fath-360 missiles, which raised the question of when and whether these weapons will be put into operation. The reasons are unclear, which raises questions about the possible use of these weapons against Ukraine.”, — write on: unn.ua

Iran has not included mobile launchers for short-range ballistic missiles that Washington last week accused Tehran of supplying to Russia for use against Ukraine. This was reported by Reuters with reference to three sources familiar with the matter UNN.

The sources – a European diplomat, a European intelligence official and a US official – said it was unclear why Iran had not delivered the Fath-360 missile launchers, raising questions about when and if the weapons would be put into service.

A U.S. official, who like other sources spoke on condition of anonymity, said Iran had not installed the launchers at the time of the U.S. announcement that Iran was supplying the weapons. A European intelligence official said, without elaborating, that they did not expect Iran to provide the launchers.

Reuters was the first to report on Iran’s plan to send missiles to Russia.

Two experts told Reuters that there could be several reasons why the launchers were not sent. One is that Russia may be planning to modify trucks to carry missiles, as Iran has done. Another version is that, by keeping the launchers, Iran is opening up space for new negotiations with Western powers to ease tensions.

The Russian Ministry of Defense declined to comment, the publication adds.

The US National Security Council did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and the Pentagon declined to comment.

Iran’s UN mission did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Let’s add

Tehran denies supplying Moscow with missiles or thousands of drones, which Kiev and Western officials say Russia uses against military targets and to destroy civilian infrastructure, including Ukraine’s power grids.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on September 10 that Iran had delivered the Fath-360 to Russia and “will probably use them within a few weeks on Ukraine.”
