Former world champion in the heavyweight division according to the WBA version David Hay expressed his opinion about the reasons why the British Tyson Fury was defeated in the fight for the unified heavyweight title with the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.

“In the first fight, I said Usyk would win on points. I said that Usyk would beat Tyson, but at the same time I hoped that I was wrong. I expected Tyson Fury to attack and take him apart. But everything went completely differently.

Usyk constantly said before the fight: “I will be next to you. I will never leave you alone.” That’s exactly what he did in the fight. I don’t think Tyson was mentally ready. Everyone expected that he would constantly chase the opponent, but everything went in a completely different way.

So I expect Fury to realize his mistakes. The guy has the ability. He is a big, strong, athletic fighter with an excellent chin. He can win and prove that all troubles are in the past,” Hay said in an interview with the Up Front YouTube channel.

Earlier, David Haye called the difference between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk.
