The Ministry of Energy announced a competition for the selection of independent members of the supervisory board of “Ukrenergo”

Photo by UNIANTaking into account the expiry of the term of office of the members of the supervisory board of NEC “Ukrenergo” at the end of 2024 – the beginning of 2025, the Ministry of Energy has announced a competitive selection of candidates for the positions of three independent members of the supervisory board of the state company. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Energy.

“The Ministry is convinced that the process of selecting members of the Supervisory Board should take place in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine, the Company’s charter and the OECD Corporate Governance Guidelines,” the ministry said in a statement.

“Ukrenergo” is instructed to engage a professional consultant for personnel selection in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution.

Simultaneously with the competitive selection of independent members of the supervisory board, the Ministry of Energy will identify and select candidates for state representatives in the company’s supervisory board.

“The first and main task of the newly created independent supervisory board will be to conduct a transparent competitive selection of candidates for the position of the chairman of the board of NEC “Ukrenergo”. Therefore, the supervisory board will make a decision on the criteria for selecting candidates for the position of the chairman of the board and approving the Procedure for conducting his competitive selection”, – says the statement of the ministry.

In accordance with the provisions of Article 112 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Management of State-Owned Objects”, the current supervisory board of NEC “Ukrenergo” consisting of 4 persons remains authorized.

The Ministry expects that the current supervisory board and board will continue to perform their functions in the best interests of Ukrenergo.
