UEFA officially announced that Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz was recognized as the best player of the week in the Champions League.

In the fight for the award, the 21-year-old German beat Harry Kane from Bayern Munich, Antoine Griezmann from Atlético Madrid and Jaime Byno-Gittens from Borussia Dortmund.

As a reminder, Wirtz scored a double against Feyenoord and helped Bayer win 4:0. For the German, it was his debut match in the Champions League.
