France announced the completion of the training of the first group of Ukrainian pilots on Alphajet aircraft.

“France has just finished training the first group of Ukrainian pilots on the Alphajet. The training of Ukrainian pilots began in March of this year to meet the operational needs of Ukraine,” the French Armed Forces announced on the social network Kh.

In June, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the start of training pilots and mechanics to use Mirage 2000 aircraft, which Paris promises to provide to Kyiv. At the time, Macron refused to name the exact number of planes.

Later, also in June, the French publication Le Monde wrote that Ukrainian pilots are training on Alphajet jet training aircraft.

According to media reports, Alphajets have an instrument panel similar to the F-16.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the Ukrainian authorities have asked the West to provide modern F-16 fighter jets. In 2023, several countries, with the consent of the US, decided to transfer such planes to Kyiv.

The first F-16 fighters that arrived in Ukraine were shown during the Air Force Day celebrations on August 4 this year.
