It is noted that the relevant decision was taken by the National Cyber ​​Security Coordination Center (NCCC) during the meeting on September 19.

The key topic of the meeting was the discussion of threats to national security associated with the use of the Telegram messenger, especially during the Russian Federation’s full-scale war against Ukraine.

Representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that Telegram is actively used by the enemy for cyber attacks, the distribution of phishing and malicious software, establishing the geolocation of users, correcting missile strikes, etc.

Also, the key topic of the meeting was the discussion of threats to national security associated with the use of the Telegram messenger, especially during a full-scale war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.

In order to minimize these threats, a decision was made to prohibit the installation and use of Telegram on the official devices of employees of state authorities, military personnel, employees of the security and defense sector, as well as enterprises – operators of critical infrastructure

At the same time, exceptions are possible – we are talking about persons for whom the use of this messenger is part of official duties.
