“In general, the anti-aircraft system works quite powerfully. During the week, 36 “shaheeds” were shot down by anti-aircraft weapons in the Sumy region,” Artyukh said.
So, over the past day, in particular, 6 attack UAVs were shot down. Thanks to the work of air defense, it was possible to prevent the damage that the enemy planned to inflict.
However, it was not without victims. One person was killed and 19 injured in the region during the day as a result of shelling, the head of the OVA said.
Artyukh also said that most of the patients of the geriatric boarding house, on which the Russian army carried out an airstrike yesterday, are housed in specially prepared facilities in the region. The rest were evacuated to safe cities.
Evacuations continue today as the region works to accommodate all geriatric nursing home patients in facilities.
According to the head of the OVA, all 13 injured due to the strike of the Russian Federation are being provided with medical assistance. They are in hospitals in the city of Sumy, currently there is no threat to their lives.
