The US Secret Service is investigating Elon Musk’s deleted post in X about an assassination attempt on US presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The US Secret Service is investigating Elon Musk’s since-deleted post on social network X in which he wondered why no one is trying to assassinate Joe Biden or Kamala Harris, unlike Donald Trump/
According to the agency, the Secret Service must determine whether the statement poses a threat to the individuals it protects. In the USA, threatening the president or vice president is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
Musk deleted the post the same day, calling it a joke, and agreed that his words had been deliberately misinterpreted. The White House called the post irresponsible, urging not to encourage violence or make jokes about it.
