“More than 60 anti-drone systems and technologies, such as sensors, drone-to-drone guidance systems, jammers and cyber interceptors, were tested in real-world conditions,” the Alliance said.

They added that Ukraine’s direct participation in the exercises is part of the Ukraine-NATO Innovation Cooperation Roadmap approved by the parties at the summit in Washington in July 2024.

“Exercises such as C-UAS TIE provide a unique opportunity to jointly solve urgent problems such as the autonomy and interoperability of drones, as well as to study Ukraine’s combat experience in combating small unmanned aerial vehicles,” the statement said.

The integration of anti-drone technologies into NATO’s integrated air and missile defense is important for strengthening the Alliance’s deterrence and defense forces and means.

The Alliance’s exercises are taking place against the background of several incidents involving the penetration of Russian drones into the airspace of its member states.

The defense ministers of Romania, Poland and Latvia called on the Allies to immediately implement the NATO air defense rotation model, as well as to strengthen NATO’s deterrence, surveillance, reconnaissance and air patrol activities on the eastern flank of the alliance.
