In Ukraine, 19 mobile applications with illegal gambling were blocked.

The Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (CRAIL) reports this, clarifying that it was possible to do this as a result of cooperation with Google LLC.

The regulator reminded that countermeasures against the negative consequences of gambling on the Internet intensified after the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated April 20, 2024 “Regarding countermeasures against the negative consequences of gambling on the Internet.”

The NSDC made this decision in order to protect the rights and legitimate interests of Ukrainian citizens and to prevent the aggressor state from using the peculiarities of the field of gambling.

“Today, it is illegal gambling operators, in violation of legal requirements, who use Google services to promote their services and directly provide such services through mobile applications,” the Regulator noted.

We will remind:

In July, based on the results of the interaction between KRAIL and Apple Inc. 50 mobile applications with illegal gambling were blocked on the company’s digital distribution platform, the availability of which on the territory of Ukraine caused a violation of the requirements of national legislation, and also led to negative consequences for the public health of Ukrainians.
