One of the significant and rather complex problems of modern society is behavioral disorders, one of which is deviance. I, Olena Bylytsia, together with my colleagues from ProInternet, have understood the essence of this concept and in this article I will tell you what deviant behavior is, how it manifests itself, and what causes it is most often caused.

Deviance: what it is Deviant human behavior is a system of actions that differ from generally accepted social norms or even contradict them. Such subjects are characterized by imbalance, frequent mood swings, they may exhibit, at first glance, causeless aggression, which is sometimes interspersed with apathy. Experienced specialists name among its manifestations a violation of self-actualization and low self-control.

In simple terms, this is antisocial behavior and an uncontrolled, unstable psycho-emotional state. I believe that this is most often manifested in teenagers and young people due to the fact that their worldview and personality are still being formed and, therefore, are under the influence of various factors, including negative ones. Such people need psychological correction.

Deviance is studied by many scientists: psychologists, criminologists, psychiatrists and teachers. A deep understanding of its causes and consequences allows such people to be helped, that is, to correct their psycho-emotional state.

Manifestations of deviant behavior in youth and adolescents Employees of the Kyiv Regional Center of Social Services, who are among the most influential specialists in the field of psychiatry, name the following manifestations of antisocial behavior:

Regular or repeated running away from home.

Aggression (including self-aggression).

Thefts

Participating in fights and provoking others to violence.

Social maladaptation, lack of communication with others.

Mania or addiction to narcotic substances, gambling or extreme entertainment.

Destruction of spiritual values.

Sexual disorders.

Tendency to suicide.

In my opinion, deviant people stand out in any society, their inappropriate behavior indicates deep emotional problems, the need for the help of relevant specialists and rehabilitation.

Psychological factors that cause this condition are conflicts and a bad example from parents and/or other relatives, lack of organized free time, during which a person could do something not only interesting, but also useful.

Most experienced experts are of the opinion that antisocial behavior is the result of a boy or girl not being able to satisfy their psychological needs, such as recognition, understanding, sympathy, support, trust, self-affirmation, etc. When this continues for a long time (years), a crisis is inevitable. If such a person is not helped, he may commit a crime or even commit suicide.
