The Office of the President of Ukraine made a brief statement regarding Crimea occupied by Russia, thus probably reacting to the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski.

On September 19, the head of OP Andriy Yermak posted a laconic post on his Telegram channel:

“Crimea is Ukraine. Russia has violated international law and must be held accountable for it.”

In this way, Andriy Yermak probably commented on Radoslav Sikorskyi’s proposal to transfer the peninsula temporarily occupied by the Russians under the UN mandate to prepare for a referendum.

“Crimea is symbolically important for Russia, especially for Putin, but strategically important for Ukraine. I do not see how it is possible to achieve peace without the demilitarization of Crimea,” Sikorsky emphasized.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland suggested that one of the possible solutions to the issue of Crimea could be its transfer under the mandate of the UN for holding a referendum after establishing the legitimate residents.

“We could put it under a UN mandate with the mission of preparing a fair referendum after checking who are legal residents and so on… And we could postpone it for 20 years,” Radoslaw Sikorski said during a panel discussion at the 20 annual meeting of YES in Kyiv.

The Summit of the Crimean Platform on September 11 is the main thing

On September 11, the fourth summit of the International Crimean Platform took place in Kyiv.

President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, Prime Minister of Latvia Evika Silinia, Chairman of the Senate of the Czech Republic Miloš Vistrčil, Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković and other foreign politicians came to Ukraine to participate in the event.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and British Foreign Minister David Lammy also visited Kyiv on September 11.

The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during a video address to the participants of the Crimean Platform, stated that his country advocates the return of Crimea to Ukraine, which is the requirement of international law.
