The film festival Zurich Film Festival included the tape in the program, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The department emphasized that they are outraged by such a decision of the organizers and condemn the provision of opportunities for the Russians to whitewash their terror. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that they will do everything to isolate Russians in cultural and other spheres.

“Russian propaganda behind the screen of a cultural product has no place on the international cultural stage and red carpets. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns any attempts to provide Russia with a cultural stage to whitewash its war crimes, while Russian troops continue to commit atrocities against Ukrainians,” – it is stated in the message of the ministry.

Trofimova shot her documentary on the territory of the occupied Luhansk and Donetsk regions. In the film, the propagandist promotes the idea that Russians are allegedly unjustifiably considered criminals. She believes that after watching the film, foreigners “will be able to understand this war more deeply.”

The tape was also planned to be shown at the Toronto Film Festival. Because of this, rallies broke out in the city. Ukrainians took to the streets demanding the cancellation of the show. Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine made an official request not to show the film in Canada. However, even after the final cancellation of “Russians at War” in Canada, two screenings of the documentary were added to the festival schedule.

It will be recalled that earlier a film critic named the reason why Venice watched a scandalous film about Russians at war.
