Crimea, temporarily occupied by Russia, can be handed over to the UN mandate and prepared for a “fair referendum.” This opinion was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radoslav Sikorskyi, during a discussion at the 20th annual meeting of YES in Kyiv, writes Interfax-Ukraine.

He believes that Crimea is symbolically important for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, but also strategically important for Ukraine. Therefore, in his opinion, Ukraine and the Russian Federation will not be able to agree on peace without the demilitarization of Crimea.

We could put it under a UN mandate with a mission to prepare a fair referendum after verifying who are legal residents and so on… And we could delay it for 20 years,” Sikorsky said.

The Summit of the Crimean Platform on September 11 is the main thing

On September 11, the fourth summit of the International Crimean Platform took place in Kyiv.

President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, Prime Minister of Latvia Evika Silinia, Chairman of the Senate of the Czech Republic Miloš Vistrčil, Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković and other foreign politicians came to Ukraine to participate in the event.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and British Foreign Minister David Lammy also visited Kyiv on September 11.

The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during a video address to the participants of the Crimean Platform, stated that his country advocates the return of Crimea to Ukraine, which is the requirement of international law.
