A 22-year-old man was detained in Lutsk, who refused to provide documents to the police and TCC and tried to escape. Administrative records have been drawn up against the detainee, and the State Criminal Investigation Department is investigating a criminal case under the article regarding possible abuse of power or official authority by a law enforcement officer, reported the GUNP in the Volyn region, writes UNN.

As the police said, on Saturday, September 14, the police, together with the military personnel of the regional TCC and SP in the city of Lutsk, stopped the man on Klyma Savura Street to check documents and check military records.

“During the conversation, the 22-year-old man from Luhansk categorically refused to provide the police with identification documents, tried to run away, pushed, not complying with the legal requirements of the police,” the police said.

It is noted that the offender was detained and taken to the Lutsk District Police Department for identification.

For the commission of the offense, as indicated, administrative arrest protocols were drawn up on the defendant and under Art. 185 (Malignant disobedience to the lawful order or demand of a police officer, a member of a public formation for the protection of public order and the state border, a military serviceman) of the Criminal Procedure Code.

“The leadership of the Volyn police department has appointed an official investigation into the actions of a police officer during the detention of a local resident,” the message reads.

As noted, the Office of the Chief Inspectorate and Compliance with Human Rights and Internal Security examines the actions of a police officer as part of an assigned official investigation. The investigation of the criminal proceedings based on the fact of the event is conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation.

As reported, the SBI is investigating a criminal proceeding under Part 2 of Art. 365 (Exceeding power or official authority by a law enforcement officer) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
