“Shakhtar” played a draw with “Bologna” in the updated Champions League

The match of the first round of the renewed Champions League took place at the Renato dal Ara stadium in Bologna, Italy, in which the local team of the same name hosted Shakhtar Donetsk. The match ended in a goalless draw – 0:0.

The champion of Ukraine was considered an outsider in the confrontation with the club, which for the first time in 60 years received the right to play in the most prestigious club tournament in Europe. However, it was the “miners” who almost scored a quick goal.

Already in the second minute, the throw at Eginalda ended with the Brazilian entering the goal and a defender’s foul in the penalty area, for which the referee pointed to the 11-meter mark without hesitation. Unfortunately, Georgy Sudakov sensationally failed to score – Bologna goalkeeper Skorupsky played brilliantly.

Also, the first half was remembered for two injuries. First, Skorupsky broke Danylo Sikan’s nose with his fist, and a few minutes later Yukhym Konoplia was also unable to continue the game. So Marino Pushych made two forced substitutions even before the break, including two slots.

In the second half, Dmytro Riznyk saved Shakhtar several times in situations that seemed hopeless. Bologna could very well score and not even once, but the goalkeeper of the “miners” was incomparable this evening.
