Law enforcement officers are checking all Lviv schools due to messages on Telegram channels about possible terrorist attacks in the city’s educational institutions on September 19, informs the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovy.

“Currently, no one can say for sure whether it is IPSO (informational and psychological special operation of special services – ed.) or real threats. It is up to the law enforcement agencies to determine all the events taking place in Lviv this week,” the mayor wrote.

According to official information, on September 16, intruders smashed one of the city’s central cafes. On the night of September 17-18, unknown persons set fire to eight objects in the city at once, including the cinema building. After that, Telegram channels began to spread information about alleged terrorist attacks.

In this way, they “try to intimidate”, but “the mind must remain cold”, urges the mayor of Lviv, and asks not to succumb to provocations.

“In the morning, at the entrance to each school, a police officer and a representative of the school will check everyone who enters. Only the police, school employees and students can enter the educational institution,” the mayor wrote.

Reports of landmines in various public places, including schools, were regularly reported in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. Then it was phone calls, now telegram channels are used as a means of disseminating such information.
