On September 2, on the fifth day of the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, Ukrainian athletes won eight medals: two gold, two silver and four bronze, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine reports.

“Gold” was won by Denys Ostapchenko (swimming, 50 m, backstroke, class S3) and Ihor Tsvetov (athletics, 100 m, class T35).

Andriy Trusov (swimming, 400 m, freestyle, class S7) and Ilya Yaremenko (swimming, 50 m, freestyle, class S13) became silver medalists.

Bronze medals were won by Serhiy Palamarchuk (swimming, 50 m, backstroke, class S3), Oleksiy Virchenko (swimming, 50 m, freestyle, class S13), Oleksandr Lytvynenko (athletics, long jump, class T36), and Zoya Ovsii ( athletics, discus throw, class F51

The Ukrainian national team with 35 medals (5 gold, 12 silver and 18 bronze) ranks 10th in the medal count.

The XVII Summer Paralympic Games are the eighth Summer Games with the participation of Ukrainian Paralympic athletes. Ukraine will be represented by 140 athletes who will compete in 17 out of 22 sports.
