Today, September 18, the best scorer and best player of the 1990 World Cup Salvatore Scillacci passed away.

The Italian fought colon cancer for several years, but the disease defeated him at the age of 59.

The day before, the family of the ex-footballer informed about his hospitalization. Scilacci was in a stable condition under the close supervision of the best doctors.

We will remind, Squillaci finished his career in 1997. He played for Italian clubs such as Juventus, Inter and Messina, as well as Japanese club Jubilo Iwata.

At the 1990 World Cup, Squillaci won the bronze medals with six goals, and he last played for Italy in September 1991.
