According to the results of this year, experts expect the growth of real GDP at the level of 3.5%.
“The main contribution to the growth of the economy was made by industry and positive dynamics in transport, construction and internal trade”, – the department quotes the words of the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko.
According to her, in August, for the first time in the last few months, entrepreneurs improved their estimates of their activities for the near future. Another positive trend was the improvement of consumer attitudes. This was caused by minimal “fan” power outages.
The Ukrainian Maritime Corridor made its positive contribution. In addition, experts emphasize the high investment demand for machine-building products and building materials.
Positive dynamics in the industry led to an increase in the volume of domestic rail transportation. If we talk about construction, here the main drivers were related to the restoration of damaged critical infrastructure, as well as the repair and reconstruction of the road surface.
At the same time, negative factors are making themselves known, which hold back GDP growth. This applies, in particular, to the shortage of qualified personnel, which leads to restraint of the economic activity of business.
Difficulties in agriculture also made themselves felt, which led to a decrease in the harvest of spring crops compared to last year. Problems are associated, in particular, with adverse weather conditions.
Ukrainian GDP growth – statistics and forecasts It was previously reported that in July the growth of the gross domestic product accelerated to 2.7% (in June this indicator was 1.6%). In general, experts estimated the growth for January-July at the level of 4.0% [±1%].
According to NBU forecasts, in 2025-2026, real GDP growth can be expected at the level of 4-5%. Economic recovery will be limited, in particular, by problems in the operation of the power system.
