Due to the international rallies for the euro/dollar pair, frequent changes in prices and the size of the spread should be expected, the analyst noted.
“The cash euro exchange rate in banks will be within the buying and selling corridor from 44.80 to 46.65 hryvnias. In exchange offices of financial companies, this corridor will be in a much narrower range from 45.00 to 46.50 hryvnias,” the expert added.
According to his forecast, most exchangers of financial companies and banks will set a spread for the dollar in the range of 20 to 25 kopecks, and for the euro – in the range of 20 to 40 kopecks.
“However, due to the increased volatility of the euro exchange rate at the Ukrainian auctions on September 17-18 due to international rallies in the euro/dollar pair, these days we should expect frequent changes in price tags and the size of the spread in the range of up to 30-70 kopecks per euro in the period from Tuesday to Wednesday inclusive. In part, the “echoes” of these international events will be felt on the cash market on the 19th as well,” Kozyrev believes.
Regarding the exchange rate at the interbank, the analyst predicted: if the dollar quotations will be within the corridor from 41.10 to 41.65 hryvnias/dollar, then due to the recalculation of the euro/dollar and dollar/hryvnia pairs, the euro exchange rate at the auction this week will be within corridor from 45.00 to 46.36 UAH/euro.
“Frequent, jump-like changes in the interbank euro exchange rate will be a distinctive feature of this week on our market,” Kozyrev emphasized.
Dollar exchange rate in Ukraine on September 17As a reminder, the National Bank of Ukraine set the official dollar-to-hryvnia exchange rate for Tuesday, September 17, at UAH 41.36/dollar, so the hryvnia weakened by 4 kopecks.
And the official exchange rate of the NBU against the euro for Tuesday is set at 46.01 hryvnias/euro, i.e. the hryvnia has weakened by 21 kopecks.
