The Ukrainian military shot down 34 attack drones that Russia attacked Ukraine with at night, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a telegram.

Also, the Armed Forces add that as a result of the active countermeasures of EW means, 12 UAVs were lost in location in several regions of Ukraine, and two more UAVs returned to Russia.

According to the Air Force, on the night of September 17, the Ukrainian military detected 51 attack UAVs from the directions: Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – RF, Cape Chauda – occupied Crimea.

Late in the evening of September 16, the Russian military, using UAVs of the “Shakhed” type, struck the Sumy region – the city of Konotop and the regional center, the regional military administration reported.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
