“Stoltenberg: each NATO country must decide for itself whether to allow Ukraine to use long-range missiles against Russia. The final decision must be made by individual allies, but Stoltenberg sees the biggest risk as Putin’s victory.”, — write on: unn.ua

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has been calling on allies for several months to allow Ukraine to use Western missiles, including the American long-range ATACMS and the British Storm Shadow, to strike Russian targets deep in Russia in order to limit Moscow’s ability to launch attacks.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and US President Joe Biden held talks in Washington on Friday, discussing the possibility of allowing Kiev to use long-range missiles against targets in Russia. However, the decision was not announced.
“I welcome these discussions and these decisions, but the final decision should be made by individual allies,” Stoltenberg said in an interview with LBC radio. “Allies have different policies on this issue.”
Some American officials are deeply skeptical that allowing the use of such missiles will make a significant contribution to Kyiv’s fight against the Russian invaders.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the West will directly fight against Russia if it allows Ukraine to strike with Western long-range missiles.
Asked about a possible Russian response, Stoltenberg said there are no “risk-free options” in war.
“But I continue to believe that the biggest risk for us, for Great Britain, for NATO, will be if President Putin wins in Ukraine,” he added.
