The Ministry of Defense has put a Canadian armored car into service.

About this informs press service of the Ministry of Defense.

The Canadian-made Roshel Senator MRAP armored vehicle was codified and approved for use in the military by the Ministry of Defense.

MRAP armored vehicles (from the English MRAP, Mine Resistant Ambush Protected – protection against mines and ambushes). Such machines have a V-shaped bottom to dissipate the energy of the explosion and special shock-absorbing seats.

Structurally, they consist of a monolithic armored capsule and external blast-absorbing units: wheels, chassis, engine. The latter absorb all the kinetic energy from the mine explosion, preserving the integrity of the module for the crew.

The Roshel Senator armored car is designed on the chassis of the American Ford F-550 heavy pickup truck. Initially, the car was intended for the needs of the police. The model was improved for the needs of the Ukrainian army.

The Roshel Senator MRAP received armor capable of protecting the crew and the landing party from bullets fired from small arms and debris. And also a special V-shaped bottom, which dissipates the energy of a mine explosion or other explosive device equivalent to 6 kg of TNT.

Since the beginning of the large-scale invasion, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and approved for service in the army more than 20 armored vehicles of the MRAP class.
