President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the law number 11507. The document envisages the inclusion of a new structure – the Unmanned Systems Forces – in certain branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This is stated in the card of the draft law.
On September 16, the document was returned to the Verkhovna Rada with the signature of the President of Ukraine.
The relevant law is aimed at increasing the capabilities of the Armed Forces to use unmanned and robotic air, sea and ground systems, ensuring their readiness for use.
In addition, it is envisaged to amend Part 1 of Art. 3 of the Law “On the Armed Forces of Ukraine” by including unmanned systems forces in separate branches of the armed forces.
The implementation of the new draft law will be carried out within the budget of the Ministry of Defense for 2024.
Previously, the Committee on National Security and Defense recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt a draft law on the creation of a separate type of force within the structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – the Force of Unmanned Systems.
In addition, the Committee on Budget Issues recommended approving as a whole the revised draft law No. 11417, which provides for an increase in defense budget expenditures by 500 billion hryvnias.
